Lamar was a very good friend to me. He was an effective member of the Board of Directors of Louisiana Bank where i was privileged to serve as President and CEO. He told me on several occasions that his board service helped him significantly in running his own business. He was quite the gentleman. Unfortunately, i am out of town and unable to attend visitation or funeral.

I went to work in the office for Mr. Buffington in 1971. He was the kindness, soft spoken, happiness gentleman I have ever worked for...He and his wife always showed respect for all his employees...I remember how involved he was in this speaker..Praying for his family during this time..
