I’ll always remember our fishing adventures, how you always smelled of saw dust, and your old red truck. You were the only grandpa I ever had, and you left a very big impact on my childhood. The memories I have to hold onto will follow me forever, and every time I see a cheese ball or smell a fish fry I will think of you.

Mike Hasten left a message on March 10, 2025:
My wife, Marjy, and I are so sorry to hear about Ken's passing. We were great friends in high school and college. He was always willing to pitch in and help, no matter the task. He let me move into his apartment over the family garage after I had a dispute at home and packed a suitcase and my stereo equipment. The stereo was what made my Dad realize I was serious. Three weeks later, Ken and I packed up my stuff in his car and I moved back home to a place of my own. We had some great times plotting things in that apartment and we shared many adventures. Ken was the first to get up the nerve to ask a new girl in school for a date. She was the editor of our high school newspaper. He was the photographer and I was the sports editor and we both kind of fell for her. I was the first to ask her to go steady. She's now my wife of 52 years, At NLU (now ULM) I met this really friendly girl named Kathy. She knew about my girlfriend (who was LSU), so we were just friends and she called me her "big brother." Ken decided to transfer to NLU from USL, so I introduced him to Kathy and they hit if off. The rest is history. I'm really sorry that we lost touch over the years. Sending prayers and condolences to all of his family. Remember the good times. Mike Hasten
