Funeral services for Kathryn “Kathy” Cole Thompson will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ Monroe. Dr. Alan Miller will officiate. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe. Visitation will be the same day from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. before the service.
Kathy was born on June 12, 1951 in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 in Monroe, Louisiana. She above all else, loved her family. Kathy dedicated her life to serving her community, first, as an elementary teacher; second, as a co-owner of Thompson’s Family Pharmacy in Swartz, which she ran with her husband, Larry, for over 30 years. She was very active in her church as a Sunday school teacher and as GA director for many years. Kathy had a passion for old movies and travel, and a generally sunny disposition with an infectious laugh. Her dedication as a mother was unparalleled and her relationship with her daughter was the joy of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry R. Thompson; parents, Wesley R. Cole and Frances Speir Cole; brother-in-law, Gary D. Thompson; sister-in-law, Marta Cole.
Kathy will be missed terribly by those she leaves behind; her daughter, Kelli Elise Thompson; sister, Kay Buchart; brothers, Ken Cole and wife Cindy and Ronnie Cole and wife Mary; nieces, Cameron Lutrick, Melissa Andrews, Megan Reyna, and Amanda Buchart; nephews, Trey Buchart, Wesley Cole, and Kenneth Cole; many other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Trey Buchart, David Reyna, Craig Friedman, Jerry Speir, Ken Cole, and Ronnie Cole.
