Funeral services for Kathleen “Kat” Mize Ellard, 80 of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe. Brother Calvin Lasyone and Brother Jim Shook will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery in West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, May 17, 2021 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe.
Kat was born in Wallace Ridge, Louisiana on May 13, 1941 and passed away on May 15, 2021 in West Monroe, Louisiana. She, above all, loved her Lord and Savior and had such a precious servant’s heart. Kat lived for her family and those she loved. She especially loved her West Monroe Rebels and her New Orleans Saints. Kat always had an open door policy and you should be prepared to stay and visit for a while. She always offered you food and something to drink. Kat was the secretary at her church, Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the Rebel Club and proudly volunteered 28 years with the Ladies Auxiliary of Glenwood Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Zona Mize; father and mother-in-law, Tom and Dorothy Ellard; nine brothers and sisters.
Kat is survived by the love of her life for over 64 years, Clinton Carlton Ellard, Sr.; children, Kathy Ann Ellard, Butch Ellard (Cindy), Dorothy Ellard, and Robin Kersh (Fred); grandchildren, Elton “Rooster”Herrington (Marla), Scotty Ellard, Stephanie Ellard, Casey Flowers (Finnon), Christy Foster (Josh), Courtney Justice and Will Ellard; great-grandchildren, Ayden and Ashton Ellard, Zoe and Madi Foster, Finnon, Jr., Gage and Tanner Flowers, Savannah Dillard, Sophie Doggett and John-Grey Hindmon; sisters, Edith Smalling, Emma Dale Montpelier, Lillie Mae Dumas and many other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Will Ellard, Josh Foster, Finnon Flowers, Sr., Finnon Flowers, Jr., Gage Flowers, Phillip Richard, James Freeman and Scotty Ellard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Kersh, Elton Herrington; her beloved brothers-in-law, Cecil and Earl Ellard and all of her precious nephews.
