Interment will be at Greenwood emetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes oF Ruston. Mre. Moore 89, died Friday, June 23, 2006 at Ruston Nursing and Rehab in Ruston, LA. Mrs. Moore was born on August 16, 1916, in Denton, MS an dmoed to Lincoln Parish in 1934. She graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN with a B.S in Nursing in 1938 an returned to Ruston to replace her mother, Nelle L. Jones, as the Lincoln Parish Public Health Nurse. She served Ruston and Lincoln Parish in the same office for forty years and was instrumental in establishing the first Family Planning Clinic in Louisiana. She actively participated in several civic and professional organizations including Ruston Quota Club, Lincoln Parish Nurses Assn and Louisiana State Nurses Assn. Mrs. Moore was a charter member of Grace Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, W.J Billy Moore: one brother, Prince Aleander Jones and two grandchildren, James Bryce Rogers and Amber Leigh Moore. Survivors include her daughters, Nelle M. Hill and husband, Charlie, of New Orleans, LA and June Ellen M. Rogers and husband Randy of Plano, TX, and one son, Rusty Moore and wife Cher of Lubbock, TX: and grandchildren, Healther Boyter of Channahon, IL, Gavin Hill of Menifee, CA, Jay Moore of Annapolis, MD, Amanda Fitzgerald of Lubbock, TX, and Brian and Brandy Rogers of Plano, TX. Great-grandchildren Cameron and Zachary Boyter and Liza Moore. Also, sister-in-law, Carrie Jones of Houston, TX. Neices Debbie Kizer, Carol Henry, Clara Machin, Ann Stedman, Kay Naff, Mary Robins: nephews, Dr.Fred L. Price, Walter Moore, Jr., Mike Dudley, Bob Dudley, Bill Dudley and Ed Dudley. In liew of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 4503 Bon Aire Drive, Monroe, LA 71203 or to Grace United Methodist Church, Ruston. Pallbearser wil be grandsons Brian and Brady Rogers, Jay Moore, and Gavin Hill, and also Harold Naff and Johnny Caraway. Visitation will be held at Kilpatrick's Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2006. The family would like to express thier gratitude to the statff of Ruston Nursing and Rehab, Hospice of Caring Hearts, and all her other other caretakers who gave her such loving care over the past few months.
