Funeral services for June Brister Gough, 86, of Shreveport, formerly of Ruston, LA will be held at 10 AM on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston Chapel. Rev. Andy Johnson will officiate. Interment will be at Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie, LA.Mrs. Gough passed away on April 25, 2016. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ruston. She was preceded in death by William S. Gough, her husband of 60 years. June is survived by her sister, Carol Brister Martin of Shreveport; her niece, Vivian Bates Phillips; and several other nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be members of her family with Don Righter as Honorary pallbearer.The family requests that memorials be made to the Baptist Children Home in Monroe, LA.Visitation will be Friday, April 29, 2016 from 9 ~ 10 AM in the Chapel prior to the service under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.Online condolences may be made to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.

Miss June was always such a "trip" when she came into Community Trust Bank. She had a great sense of humor and loved to show me her recently painted fingernails. She always talked about going places and doing things. She really loved visiting sister Carol and enjoying the things they did together. The world needs more smiling faces and good cheer in people. Rest in peace Miss June.

It is impossible to think of Aunt June without "classy lady" coming to mind. She and Uncle Bill loved to travel and I cannot begin to count the places they visited throughout their lives. Their advice -- eat where the locals eat and immerse yourself in the culture. Notebooks documented their many adventures. She will be missed by all who knew her.
