Julia Anne Brown, 73, from Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on June 29, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana. She was born July 21, 1950, in Epps, Louisiana. Julia enjoyed working in her yard, birdwatching, and walking through antique shops and flea markets. She loved animals of all varieties and once raised a baby squirrel named Jiffy that terrorized everyone who wasn’t her. On Saturdays and Sundays in the fall and winter, you could hear Julia rooting for the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. In the last couple of years, she became a valued member of the Azalea Estates community, serving as the secretary of the resident council. Julia took minutes during community meetings, became close with residents and staff, and always kept her red chair ready for impromptu “therapy” sessions. She kept the plants alive, kept people smiling and laughing, and always stopped to play with the puppies that came into the community. To Julia, everyone was “darling”. She will be missed by many. Julia was preceded in death by her parents Julius “Shorty” Dobson and Ruby Dobson; and sister, Pamela Negrotto.
Julia is survived by her sons, Chad Brown and daughter-in-law, Janine, And Jason Brown; grandchildren, Cody Brown, Paxton Brown, Logan Brown; and one great-grandchild, Raelynn Brown; along with extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be private and are pending.
