Mrs. Burk was my 12th grade English IV teacher.(1979) WMHS.So sorry for your loss she was a wonderful teacher. Sounds like she lived a good life.. Prayers for your loss.

To the Burk Family: JUANITA WAS ONE OF THE FINEST CHRISTIAN WOMEN I HAVE EVER KNOWN! SHE & I WERE TEACHER-MATES AT WMHS, BOTH TEACHING JR. ENGLISH ACROSS THE HALL FROM EACH OTHER. SHE WAS A WONDERFUL ENCOURAGER & A SUPERB TEACHER! HER WONDERFUL CHRISTIAN LIFE WAS AN EXAMPLE TO ALL HER CO-TEACHERS & STUDENTS OF HOW WE ARE TO LIVE! MANY TIMES SHE SHARED HER WISDOM & UPBEAT PERSONALITY WITH ME & OTHER TEACHERS OVER THE YEARS WE WERE TOGETHER! I KNOW WHAT A SPIRITUAL LEADER SHE WAS IN HER CHURCH ALSO. I HAVE READ SOME BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTES TO HER TODAY ON FB. I SO ADMIRED HER STEADFASTNESS IN HER FAITH & HER ABILITY TO ALWAYS SEE THE GOOD IN OTHERS. THERE ARE PROBABLY UNTOLD NUMBERS OF FORMER STUDENTS & TEACHERS & ADMINISTRATORS & OTHERS THAT SHE WITNESSED TO THROUGH HER WORDS AS WELL AS BY HER LIFE TO LIVE FOR THE LORD. One of the best women of God I know . Was a great teacher my teacher who I loved more than anything. She love the lord love us kids loved helping people . She loved teaching loved her church and above all her family . Loved her husband talk about him told stories about their life’s . Loved her children and grandchildren. She loved reading love many books but her favorite was the Bible . The woman could quote verses like no other amazing . Knew presidents speeches and poems knew a lot about history . She taught me so much couldn’t believe when she called me out 20 years later Clay what’s the line in Lincoln speech . I was shocked I remembered. Read many books 1984, old man in sea , animal farm, many others . She cared about our grades she cared about us . Never wanted to see anyone fell or give up . She was a challenge she challenged you . When I first met her I was like I can’t stand that class . Then I loved her always due to she never gave up on me or us . She challenged us to be the best . I started making honor roll in her class . I was in town the day she died my heart ❤️ sink in my stomach when the funeral home car and workers brought her out I cried like a baby . 2 years earlier losing my father losing her killed me another special person I loved is gone . She meant the world to me I love her . She loved me . I just want the world to know what a special and great lady she was . Until I see you again I love you always Mrs. Burke rest easy now in heaven with your husband and daughter say hello to my dad and family for me .
