Funeral service for Joyce Lyons Sanford, 75, of West Monroe, will be held at 10:00, Saturday, September 8, 2012 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Bro. Charles Martindale will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Joyce went home to be with The Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 2, 2012. She was born on September 1, 1937, in Junction City, AR. Joyce had just celebrated her 75th birthday, listening to the beautiful messages written by her family & wonderful friends. Joyce was longtime member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe, a member of Highland Garden Club, an avid gardener, maker of beautiful dolls, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt & friend. Joyce and her husband, Bill loved to travel and entertain family and friends. She was retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; Reverend Coy Lyons & Mary Lucille Brown Lyons, her husband, Billy J. Sanford, her sisters, Ruth Ann Lyons and Flo Lyons Pierce. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Kay Sanford Mitchell & husband Reid of Little Rock, AR; her brothers, Robert Lyons of West Monroe, LA, Benny Lyons of Calion, AR., Steve Lyons of Calhoun, LA. and David Lyons of Monroe, LA. granddaughters; Allison Claire Helton & her husband John Barry of Prairie Grove, AR., Lauren Ashley Coonrod & Amanda Kay Coonrod both of Little Rock; nieces; Amanda Joyce Squitiero & husband Chris of Dallas, TX, Toni Phillips & husband Steve , of Atlanta, GA., Pam Barcelou & husband David of Huntington, PA, Eva Marie Lyons of Hawaii, Megan Ann Lyons of Chicago, Il., Rachel Katherine Lyons of Fayetteville, AR., Rachel Lucille Lyons of Monroe, LA.; nephews: Chris Lyons & wife Michele of West Monroe and Chuck Pierce of Texarkana, AR.; great grandsons, Noah Mitchell Helton & Newborn, Nathan Bradley Helton of Prairie Grove, AR. and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins and a special thanks to JoAnn Warner. Pallbearers will be John Helton, Chris Squitiero , Britt Mitchell, Keith Warner, Andrew Mills & Reid Mitchell. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00pm until 8:00 pm at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
