Funeral services for Josephine “Jo” Calhoun will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 23, 2025, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.  Bro. Neil Wigley and Roy Telano will officiate.  Interment will follow at Cypress Baptist Church Cemetery under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe.  A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Josephine was born on May 27, 1935 and passed away on June 20, 2025. She was known to everyone as “Jo”.  She was married to the love of her life, Buford Calhoun, for almost 60 years.  Jo loved to cook lunch every Sunday for the family, including Gail, her sons and their families.  She loved working in the yard and growing her beautiful flowers.  She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.  Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Calhoun; daughters, Karen Ann Calhoun and Little Baby Calhoun; parents, Homer and Lucy Allen; brother, Homer Allen; and sisters, Lennie England and Martha Johnson.

Jo is survived by her loving daughter, Gail Wallace and husband Gator; grandsons, who she loved very much, Shannon Murphy and wife Crystal, Jarred Wallace; great-grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye, Hanley Murphy and Mercedes Jo Wallace; brother, Glenn Allen; sisters, Betty Lynn Allen and Linda Murphy; a number of nieces and nephews; along with other cherished family and friends.

Honoring Jo as pallbearers will be Macky Brister, Kevin Calhoun, Bobby Allen, Steve Calhoun, Kenneth Calhoun and Gator Wallace.
