What an honor it has been to know my Uncle Mance. Since I was a kid he was a big-hearted, big-laughter, big-hug kind of guy. As I grew older I so much appreciated the example he set, as a Man of God, as a Husband, Father, and Grandfather to his family. His example is one to be admired and emulated. I will miss you Uncle Mance, but rejoice in knowing you're with our Savior Jesus. May God provide His comfort to Aunt Caroline, Claire, Chris, Garrrett, Grant, and Avery as they grieve. Love, cousin Doug

Mance was a good friend. Even with his ailments Mance always had a big smile and ready to visit. Mance, Joe Riley, Rodney Welch, Butch Smith and myself were always ready to play golf, bass fish or gather after church for lunch or after a night service. Now they are all gone and missed. I guess that’s what life is all about. Live life with friends and family then when you pass away you are missed and loved by your family and friends. You guys please leave a few bass for me in heaven. You should be able to use a Devil’s Horse in Heaven, too.

Ronnie Sanders left a message on May 4, 2020:
Mance for me was one of those chosen saints of God. When I first came to faith in Jesus Mance and I were in the same Sunday School class taught by Eddie Haynes. I shall never forget the kindness this big gentle bear of a man showed a struggling inept convert to the Christian faith. Carolyn and family, words fail me to begin to express the condolences for the loss you feel. You are in my prayers.

I think it was about 1976, that we bought a house on Greer Drive. I found quickly that I had a new next-door neighbor and a new friend--Mance Allman. What a great event for me. At first it seemed I worked incessantly, but after a year or so Mance invited me play softball on a church league team on which he played. So many other friendships and relationships came from playing ball with Mance. To many guys on those teams Mance was like a brother, a father but to most he was a mentor. I know I speak for the guys who played with Mance, we loved Mance Allman. Rest in Peace my brother in Christ.

Sweet Carolyn...you are in my heart and prayers. When I remember the two of you I remember knowing you were a forever couple. Mance was always so kind and I know when he arrived at the Golden Gates God embraced him and said "well done my good and faithful friend". I said a rosary for him prior to my virtual Mass this morning and one for you and your strength during this time!
