Funeral services for Johnny K. Paine, 68, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 1, 2012 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe with Bro. Jeff Hurst officiating. Interment will follow in the Bernice Cemetery in Bernice, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Johnny was born October 21, 1943 in Bernice, LA to Albert and Marie Strickland Paine, and passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012. Mr. Paine was retired from Louisiana State Police Troop F and was also a retired manager for Plunk's Wrecker Service. He loved to spend time with his friends and family at the hunting camp and was an avid reader of old western novels. His family loved his sense of humor and wit, which will be missed. Johnny rarely had many words to say, but everyone knew to listen when he spoke. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Marie Strickland Paine. He is survived by his former wife and best friend til the end, Gail Cupit of West Monroe; daughters, Shannon Trichel and husband Tony of Collinston, and Brandi Tryon and husband Paul of Denham Springs; stepson, Dylan Greer and wife Kristine of West Monroe; a granddaughter, Cassidy Thornton; grandsons, Alex and Nathan Tryon; and a step-grandson, Tyler Trichel. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Ann Paine of West Monroe; brother, Jerry Paine and wife Ruth of Blanchard; sisters Wanda Ginn and husband Larry of Ruston; and Pam Odom and husband Donny of Bernice, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Minor Patton, Ed Arrant, Eric Craighead, Craig Pate, Gurvis Hall and Brian Craighead.
