Graveside services for Johnnie Simmons will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Pastor Michael Stravato and Eddie Simmons will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Monday, September 14, 2020 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe.
Johnnie was born on February 14, 1931 in Standard, Louisiana and passed away on September 10, 2020 in West Monroe, Louisiana. She was a member of Family Church and was a much loved childcare worker at Monroe Church of God and in her home. Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny W. Simmons; parents, Margarite Singleton Golden and Edwin Deval Golden; sisters, Mildred, Valera Mae, Thelma Joe, and Kay Francis.
Johnnie is survived by her children, Eddie Simmons and wife Debra, Charles Simmons, Ronnie Simmons and wife Sandra, and Trisha Thompson and husband Kelvin; grandchildren, Heather Dahlum and JJ, Brooke Brown and Josh, David Simmons, Amy Slaughter and Shane, Jamie Simmons and Patricia, Chuck Simmons, Jason Simmons, John Simmons and Valerie, Ronnie Simmons II and Nia, Brittany Simmons, Mark Simmons and Tiana, Phillip Thompson and Michelle, Keith Thompson and Emily; 23 great-grandchildren and two on the way; many other cherished family and friends.
