Funeral services for John William Garoby, Sr., 87, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Rev. Scott Howell will officiate. John was born on October 6, 1934 and passed away at his home on October 12, 2021. Services are under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson W. Garoby and Mattie L. Fabacher. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired mechanic of the Ouachita Parish School Board.

He is survived by his wife, Terry Price Garoby; daughter, Kelly Garoby Glennon and husband Dennis; sons, John “Tiger” W. Garoby, Jr. and wife Cynthia Rena, and Michael J. Garoby, Sr.; grandchildren, Kimberly Paxton (Charles), Kathy Sullivan (Brandon), Michael J. Garoby, Jr. ( Brittney) and Sarah Waller (Johnny); great-grandchildren, Timothy and Brayden Sullivan, and Celty Garoby.

Dear Terry and family, we are so very sorry we didn’t know about John. I’m not sure how Noel found out a day after the service and called us so upset he hadn’t known. Carson said John is the first man of our family he remembered meeting when he moved here. I know God will be your comfort and sustainer. I think of you often and love you all. Carson and Ashley

So sorry to hear about John's passing. I read his obituary 10 minutes before his service. Although I'm not abe to be there, please know that you all are in my prayers. So many memories from our Southside days.

So sorry to read about Mr Garoby. I met him years ago when I was a part runner. He was a wonderful man. Sending prayers to all the family.

I’m sorry for the death of John. He and I go back to the bread company days. He and have swapped cars he has painted a few for me. We have have seen each other over the years. I always enjoyed our visits. Gene gray

Dear Family, Herbie and I was so sadden to hear of John’s passing. We hung around John when Herbie and I was in high school and that was a long time ago. Herbie loved John dearly and always considered him a dear friend. Please accept our condolences and our love during this sad time. We have so many good memories of hanging out with him.
