Funeral services for John Terry Baxter, 54 of Eros will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, 2:00 pm at Cheniere Baptist Church in West Monroe with Brother Robert “Bodie” Spicer officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Terry was born January 17, 1958 and entered into eternal rest on April 28, 2012, following a lengthy battle with lung cancer. He was a contractor who spent many hours building and remodeling homes for many special people, charities, and businesses. Terry took much pride in his work and was always available to help his family and friends. He was a member of Cheniere Baptist Church and participated in many mission service projects both at home and away. His father, John Riley Baxter; nephew, Joshua Baxter; several cousins; and his grandparents preceded Terry in death. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Jeremiah Baxter; mother, Charlotte Baxter; brothers, Jerry Baxter and wife Donna, and Greg Baxter; nephew, Samuel Baxter; niece, Christian Baxter; his biological father, Reggie Collier; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. Terry's cousins will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:00 noon until time of service.
