John Kemp BullockKilpatrick Funeral HomeRuston, LAFuneral services for John Kemp Bullock, age 77, of Ruston will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday 20, 2015 at Longstraw Baptist Church and burial in Longstraw Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, Louisiana.Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, Louisiana.John passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Baird, Texas on August 25, 1937 to James Eddie Bullock and Elizabeth Bessie Bailey Bullock. John, Papa, known to grandchildren, had lived at Longstraw for the past 40 years. He had resided at the Alpine Guest Care Center in Ruston for the past three years.John is survived by his wife of 50 years: Patsy Pesnell Bullock; two daughters, and one son: Kimberly Kemp Tremblay of Lake Charles, Louisiana and husband Adam; Johnelle Kemp Levesque and husband Michael of Phoenix, Arizona and John Patrick Bullock of Shreveport, Louisiana. John is survived by four grandchildren: Sydney and Shelby LaBine and Mason and Chloe Tremblay.John graduated from Baird High School in Baird, Texas and was a graduate of Howard Payne Baptist College with a degree in Chemistry. While at Howard Payne he played football and ran track. He pursued a career in the oil field for 40 years. He was an avid hunter and the family chef. He will be remembered for his famous fried chicken and missed for his wit and humor.Special thanks go out from the family to all of the administration caretaker and friends at Alpine Gamble Guest Care.
