For so many good years while Joey and I worked in the English Department at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Theda and John were mentors and good friends. So many memories will be treasured--going to auctions together, having Christmas celebrations together, and sharing time with our pets. Several holidays, we worked at John's store selling and delivering Christmas trees. The photo I include was the day I returned from Korea (where my father passed) with the conductor's bell of a Korean train. This was a present for John. I do not have the space to share the laughter and love John brought to those of us who knew him. Love, Jeff and Jo Galle

John Birdsong was one of those people that you encounter in life that you just couldn't help but like. A man of strong faith and personal conviction, John always let you know how he felt, but he was always a gentleman. I will miss him. Rest in peace dear brother in Christ and at the last day, rise with your savior in his glory!
