Bobby Conville left a message on February 13, 2020:
John Emory was a giant in the financial community as well as the entire community of North Central Louisiana. John mentored many young men and women in the Ruston/Choudrant area and I have greatly admired him for doing so. John also was a man of integrity and encouraged many of us to follow that theme into our individual banks and businesses. I greatly admired John, and I join many that thank God for John's influence in our lives. I can truthfully say that I never had a conversation with John, where I did not come away encouraged. Thank you John Emory, my friend. Bobby Conville

I met Mr. Emory almost 20 years ago when I moved to Choudrant. He was a great man and like everyone would say, always willing to help. He and I had many good conversations about Choudrant and the community. He was always willing to help me with community events. My condolences to the family.
