Graveside services for John D. McClendon, Sr., 87, of West Monroe, will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Hasley Cemetery. Interment will follow under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.

John was born on June 21, 1937 in Lake Providence and passed away on November 28, 2024 in Monroe. John played football for Lake Providence High School and was awarded a scholarship to play football at what is now known as ULM. After his playing days were complete, he continued to support and watch football at the collegiate level. He was a retired land developer and realtor. John was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed every minute of time spent with them. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Earl McClendon and Ruby Hanks McClendon; sisters, Alma Ray Patrick and Martha Carolyn Scott.

John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ann LaDart McClendon; two children, Kathy McClendon Marshall and husband Ben, John McClendon, Jr. and fiancé Denise Kindrix; and many other cherished family and friends.
