Funeral services for Vietnam Veteran Joseph Richard Holder Sr., 78, of Calhoun, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 23, 2021 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe with Bishop John Thompson and Pastor Marcus Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Joe was born May 5, 1943 in Hanford, California and passed away July 20, 2021 in Calhoun, Louisiana. He was a retired welder and a member of Grace Pointe Church. Joe is preceded in death by his parents; Major Jack Holder and wife Francis; wife Doris Turner Holder and brother  Charles Holder.

Joe is survived by sons; Travis Lewis and wife Gabrielle, Joseph Holder Jr., Michael Holder and Bliss; brother Jack Holder and wife Sharon; sister-in-law Lenora Holder; grandchildren Courtney Smith and husband Billy Wayne, Ryan Lewis and wife Madeline, Sarah Lewis, Gage and Charlee Holder,  Joshua Lewis, Ruby Lewis; great-grandchildren Jaxson, Adeline, Tucker and Asher; numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his caregiver and friend Charlotte Bingham.

Pallbearers will be Travis Lewis, Ryan Lewis, Gage Holder, Allen Moore, two members of Grace Pointe and Billy Wayne Smith will serve as honorary pallbearer.
