Joann was born on May 1, 1946, in Jessieville, Arkansas and passed away on January 18, 2025, in Downsville, LA.
Born into a large family in rural Arkansas, Joann learned the values of faith and hard work. She sang gospel songs in church, and as part of a traveling group which led to her belief of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. This faith she freely expressed to her family and others. Joann loved to laugh and would make friends wherever she went. Her faith, strength, willpower, and compassion allowed her to raise six children and would influence her family line.
Joann had a deep passion for observing the beauty of nature. She loved animals of all types of particularly birds with her favorite being the cardinal. She found immense joy in gardening, always eager to plant new flowers and nurture her garden into a vibrant sanctuary. She enjoyed sitting on her porch and watching the fruits of her labor.
While she loved nature, the true love of Joann’s life was her family. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She treasured the times when family from near and far would come together, filling her home with laughter, warmth, and love. Her family will deeply miss her but know they will be reunited with her one day.
