Joan Van Veckhoven Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Funeral services for Mrs. Joan Van Veckhoven, age 79, of Dubach, LA will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Rev. Bill Reid and Rev. Todd Free. Interment will follow at Pines Memorial Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mrs. Van Veckhoven was born June 12, 1934 in Gordon, TX and passed away June 24, 2013 in Dubach, LA, following a brief illness. Mrs. Van Veckhoven was born and raised in Gordon, TX. A loving mother, grandmother, and wife who was proud to have been married to the love of her life for nearly 56 years. She was a retired homemaker and member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was full of life, loved to cook and was always open with her thoughts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived b y her husband, Charles Ray Van Veckhoven of Dubach, LA; son: Brian Keith Vann of Ruston, LA; grandchildren: Lauren Vann and Morgan Vann both of Dubach, LA; brothers: Bob Pitman and wife Helga of Vancouver, WA and Earl Pitman and wife Jean of Alpine, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Darrell Newsom, Steve Beard, Carl Glover, Bryan Ray, Chuck Hixon and Dennis Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Kilgore and David Carter.
