Funeral services for Jimmy H. Head, Col. USAR ret, 82, of Monroe, will be at 10:00AM on Tuesday, March 27th, 2012, in the Chapel of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe with Rev. Gerald Lewis and Rev. Bill Lewis officiating. Interment follows at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Born October 13th, 1929, in Pioneer, LA, he died Saturday, March 24th, 2012 in Monroe. A retired Ouachita Parish teacher and administrator, Jimmy was an US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a retired Colonel in the US Army Reserve. He was a member of the Swartz Assembly of God Church. In addition to his parents, Marshall and Ethel Rawls Head, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam, and his brother, Truman Head. Survivors include his beloved wife of over 59 years, Joyce Cook Head; daughter, Teri Head Smith; granddaughter, Lexie Smith Atwell and husband, Jerry; great grandson, Connor Atwell; 2 brothers, Curtis Head and Roscoe Head and wife, Jean; sister, JoAnn Bradley and husband, Copeland; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Richard Hill, Phil Hill, Jerry Garlington, Ron Mahmoodian, Bruce Head, and Harris Segal. Visitation is Monday, March 26th, 2012, from 5:00PM to 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
