Funeral services for Jimmy Doolittle, 78, of Farmerville, La. will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 at 11:00 at the First Baptist Church of Farmerville. Rev. Kurt Auger and Rev. Alan Miller will officiate. A visitation will be held from 9:00 until time of service. Interment will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery with military honors.
Jimmy had retired from the Bryan Sausage Company and as custodian at the First Baptist Church in Farmerville and was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Army. He loved working with wood and always had a project going. He was very talented when it came to building anything out of wood, from swings and chairs to cedar chests and birdhouses. If you wanted it, he could build it. Jimmy loved living on the lake, riding on his pontoon boat and spent many hours fishing from the dock. He would always give his catch to any of his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Alva Doolittle, Sr. and mother Tennie, siblings, Barbara Thompson (Richard) Raymond Doolittle (Pam), Alva Doolittle Jr. (Mildred) and Johnny Doolittle (Belle)
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Kathy Terral Doolittle, children, Mike Doolittle (Laurie) of Alexandria, La., April Burney of Farmerville, La. and Christopher Doolittle (Courtnei) of Ruston, La. He also leaves 4 wonderful grandchildren, Paxton Burney, Kaylee Doolittle, Brantlee Doolittle and Allie Doolittle and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tracy Terral, Mark Terral, Cody Livingston, Heath Williams, Stacy Terral and Ricky Thompson.
