A graveside service for Mr. Jim Easterling (Poppy), 74, of West Monroe, LA will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Cemetery, Calhoun, LA with Reverend Dennis Hensley officiating.

Jim was born November 4, 1946, in Fordyce, Arkansas and passed away December 13, 2020 at his home surrounded by loved ones.  He was a graduate of West Monroe High School, class of 1964 and attended NLU.  While attending college, he also served in the United States National Guard.  He worked many years in the building material business, retiring from Allen Millwork in 2008.  Jim was an avid fan of the West Monroe Rebels and a bigger fan of the LSU Tigers. He liked to say that no matter the score or how badly your team played, a “W was a W”.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ora Mae Thompson Easterling; and his beloved son, Barry.

Jim is survived by his wife and soul mate, Margie Hendrix Easterling; stepchildren Chris Hendricks and wife, Nanette,   Beth Branco and husband, Sam, David Hendricks and husband, Alan; grandchildren Amanda and Chad Hendricks and Megan Hendricks Siddon, Candice Wilkins, Mackenzie and Hallie Branco; two brothers, Bo Easterling and wife, Merlene, Bob Easterling and wife, Linda; one sister, Clara Freeman; many special nieces and nephews; and his favorite cat, Piper.
