On August 21, 2013 the heavens opened and the Angels rejoiced because Jewell Wilcockson 90, had come home. Jewell was born on November 19, 1922 in Catching, Mississippi. We will celebrate her life on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, 2:00 pm in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. Wesley Pittman will officiate. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens, West Monroe. The family that have gone before her were her parents, father, Marion Chester Collier, mother, Ida Dena Little Collier; brothers, Travis Harley, James, J.T. Collier; sisters, Mae Wilcockson and Ruby Warren; brothers-in-law, C.J. Wilcoxon and Pat Wilcoxon; her husband Thad Wilcockson and her daughter, Judy Wilcockson Ross. Mother was a beautiful, gentle, loving soul who lived a full and happy life. She walked many paths as mother, grandmother, and grandma-great. She was co-owner of Jewell's Swap Shop and then Jewell's Auction. After finally retiring, she enjoyed being a mother and homemaker, gardening, travel and motorcycles.Those who are left will love and miss her until they meet again: son, Jerry Wilcockson and wife Dianne, West Monroe; son-in-law, Weldon Ross, West Monroe; sister, Marion Gregory, Jonesboro, AR; sisters-in-law, Ruth Ellen Wilcoxon of TN and Margie Wilcoxon of West Monroe; grandchildren, Nikki Wilcockson Hyde, Tulsa, OK, Shari Sanders, Tulsa, OK, Jacci Carpio, Tulsa, OK, Michael Moore, Monroe, LA, Mark Moore, Lakeland, FL; 9 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. We wish to thank those that took such wonderful care of our mother: St. Francis Hospital, Glenwood Hospital, Cornerstone Hospital and Landmark Nursing Home. The doctors and nursing staff of all of these facilities were wonderful. For all of these people we say, “Thank You” for the loving care you gave her.
