I was a client of Jesse's for ten years before his retirement, and found him to be one of the most brilliant and finest gentleman I ever knew. The times I met Carol, I thought that her and Jesse were wonderful role models of how a marriage should be. They don't make them like Jesse anymore!

Bob, Judy, Richard and I are all on the Gulf Coast this week, but wanted you to know you are in our prayers. It has been three years today since our Daddy passed away. Family: I have known Jesse since l957, when I was a student at the law school at LSU. As I recall, he was a senior and I was a freshman. Later when we both came back to North Louisiana I always had pleasant dealings with him on a professional basis. Then later served a few years with him as a member of the Council of the Louisiana State Law Institute where he made so many valuable contributions to the law of this state. He was, indeed, a "lawyer's lawyer", a gentleman and scholar and loved and respected by so many. He will be missed by many, particularly Billie and I.
