Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Mitchell, 71, of Ruston will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Rev. Brad Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 1 from 12:30 PM until the service at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.Jerry Wayne Mitchell was born February 8, 1947 in Ruston, LA to Frank L. Mitchell and Gracie Ivis Goodwin Mitchell. After a very long illness, Mr. Mitchell passed away peacefully on July 29, 2018.Jerry made a lifelong career with the State Department of Highways as an equipment operator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. You could say he was liked by everyone and never met a stranger. His hobbies included movies, country music, and dancing. Jerry Wayne Mitchell will be greatly missed by all.
