Funeral Services for  Mr. Jerry Leon Russell  82, of Marion, LA; will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, LA; Officiating will be Bro. Buddy Lowery. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Liberty Linville Cemetery in Linville, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville, LA.

Jerry L. “Jakie” was born on March 31, 1938 and passed away on July 22, 2020 in the home of his grandson and caregiver Russell Wise surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Zoa Russell, Sister Suddie Miles and his wife of 56 years, Jamie.

Survivors include one son, Monty Russell and wife Nettie; one daughter Amy Matthews and husband Scott; 3 grandsons: Joshua Russell, Russell Wise, and Austin Wise; 3 granddaughters; Amber Johnston, Katie McCullough and Emily Russell; 7 great-grandchildren: Aidan, Lily, Paxton, Lochlynn, Ophelia, Cecilia, and Caroline.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Russell, Russell Wise, Austin Russell, Russell Johnston, Paxton Johnston, Aidan Johnston, and Hal Parker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made  to the World Wide Mission, 300 Bird Industrial Drive, Hamburg, AR, 71646.

A Limb Has Fallen

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small,
Go on with your life, don’t just stare at the wall.
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
