Mr Hammons will be missed by all his family and the grandkids don't know yet how much. But as they grow older they will remember all the love he demonstrated toward them. We all look forward to the fulfillment of Revelation 21verses 3,4 that God will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore the former things.
Janet Bond Rexroad left a message on September 2, 2018:
Although I had not seen Jerry, Donna and the children (now adults) for several years, I often heard about them from Virginia and/or Cleve and knew how proud they were of Jerry and his family. I admired and loved his parents and grandparents so much that I knew he always had a good example of how to live and take care of others. I am so sorry to hear of this and also sorry I cannot be there for the services. I will be there soon to visit.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

I am so sorry to hear about Jerry. He was part of our family here in our special Downsville community. He was always one of the sweeter boys and stayed that was as he grew into a man. My love and prayers to Donna and the children and grandchildren. My love and prayers to Keith, Ken, and Tim. I send prayers and love to Cleve. Jerry and I went fishing on Lake Darbonne. It was raining and when we got where we was going we was catching monster white perch. We had on rain gear and was drenched cause it was not only raining but it was really really raining. I was in back of boat with inches of water around my feet and I yelled Jerry what are we doing out hear?As he was pulling in a slab he looked at me and yelled back Catching fish!Over and over this memory is in my head since his death and makes me smile just as he did many times.I was so blessed to have him as a brother and my friend.
