Janis Odom Pruett, 68, of West Monroe, quietly passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Janis was born in Monroe, LA on May 12, 1956, and was a resident of West Monroe until her death. She was a life­long member of the Claiborne Church of Christ. She loved God, family, gardening and her beloved pets. Janis is preceded death by her mother, Mary D. Odom; father, Carl R. Odom; and son, John Jeffrey Pruett III.

Janis is survived by her sisters, Carla 0.Meyers of Baton Rouge and Sandra O. Guice (Sammy) of West Monroe; brothers, Randy K. Odom of Walker  and Gary R. Odom (Linda) of Bandera, TX; daughter in-law, step-granddaughter and grandson, Brandi H. Pruett of West Monroe, Allyson Smith of Baton Rouge, LA and Chris Smith of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

We would like to thank the attending staff and doctors at St. Francis Medical Center for their loving care and support for Janis and the family.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Friday, May 16, 2025 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.
