Funeral services for Janelle Midge Martin Turner will be 3:00 P.M., Monday, October 9, 2017 in the First Baptist Church, West Monroe Sanctuary. Rev. Michael Wood and Dr. Mark Fenn will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.Midge was born November 10, 1939 in Shreveport, LA and passed away on October 6, 2017 in Calhoun, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Burdette Martin; sisters, Louise Kirkland and Lorena Jordan.Midge was a beautifully spirited, loving and extremely talented woman who could play the piano with the ease of a gifted professional. She was always willing to share her gifts, playing the piano at every church they belonged to in their many moves around the country. Along the way she was invited to play for many special occasions including weddings, choir specials, nursing homes, musicals and concerts. During this time she was also teaching piano, raising three children, and fully involved in community volunteer work. People were drawn to her wonderful sense of humor, her beauty and her vivacious, charismatic personality. She was a generous and sweet friend to all, an incredible mother, grandmother, great grandmother and the most loving, precious and treasured wife.Midge has been ill for a long time but God has finally decided He needs her in Heaven to help Him with the music program. She will be so very missed, but will surely be sharing her talents in Heaven.Midge is survived by her husband of 58 years, James D. Jim Turner; three children, Debra Turner Hendricks and husband Mark, Jay Turner and wife Carolyn, Laura Turner and Rusty Stuck; grandchildren, Beth Hendricks, Kevin Hendricks and wife Rachel, Matthew Hendricks and wife Jordan, Katie Hendricks Haley and husband Philip, Jimmy Turner and Jennifer Turner; five great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Mark Hendricks, Kevin Hendricks, Matthew Hendricks, Jimmy Turner, Rusty Stuck, and Philip Haley.Special thanks to Audrey and Tay for their loving care during Midge illness.
