In 1981 Jane and David moved to Monroe where they firmly planted their roots. Jane began her second career working for utilization review and later in case management at Glenwood Medical Center. At the age of 53 Jane completed her second degree in medical records. At 64, when Jane retired, she had the opportunity spend more time doing the things she loved such as traveling with David to places like New Zealand, Greece, Switzerland, Italy, Portugal and United Kingdom. Jane loved sewing and began teaching herself to quilt. She eventually personalized quilts for each of her grandchildren. Her other passions included gourmet cooking, reading mystery novels, gardening and flower arranging and she was also a member of the Bayou Desiard Garden Club. Jane was a member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Monroe where she often created floral arrangements for Sunday services.
