Stephen Skakun left a message on December 22, 2022:
Went to Texas A&M with his son ... as a suburb kid I learned the joys of working outdoors at the ranch in Singleton, keeping the transmission shop swept up and cleaned ... deepening my "mechanicals" understanding. Was always welcomed to break bread with the Murphy's if it was breakfast, lunch or dinner and I was around. They were my adopted "at college" parents ... and realized how much influence Mr. Murphy had on me after I graduated and lived in different locations in the US. His love of Family, country, outdoors and the satisfaction in a good hard day of work have follow me into my middle age ... and into my family. I joked with my wife the other day, after we heard the news, that I always carry my pocket knife because Mr. Murphy always had his. He was always held in "large stature" by me and the other boys that hung around him in those time. I imagine most men in those time too! He will be missed and remembered.
