Celebration of life for James (Jim) Robert Carson will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Christ Church at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church with Rev. Tom Lowe officiating under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
James (Jim) Robert Carson was born March 25, 1939 in Seattle, WA and passed away on December 17, 2021 in Monroe, LA. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Margaret Carson; siblings, Claire Vaughn and Mike Carson; and son Ross Carson.
Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy Carson; brother John Carson and wife Dovie; children, Scott Carson and wife Johnnie Raye; Leona Carson and husband Mike; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-granddaughters, several nieces and nephews and other cherished family and friends.
Jim was a retired Staff Sergeant of the United States Army Reserve, Pacific First Federal Savings Bank, and Evergreen Pet Supply. He was a member of Christ Church West Monroe where he served in the Men’s Ministry. Jim was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending Saturday mornings with the Christ Church men’s golf group.
Friends and family have shared the impact he made on their lives, the joy his contagious smile brought them, and how refreshing his free-spirited outlook on life was. Jim loved people and never met a stranger. More importantly, he loved God, his country, and family.
The family would like to thank the staff members of St. Francis Medical Center Home Health and Dr. Ronald Hubbard and Dr. Thomas Williams.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate on his behalf to Project Samuel – Nicaragua, a ministry he fell in love with while on his first ever mission trip in 2018.
