James Hollis joined his Heavenly home, Friday, February 13, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Hazel Jerry Hollis. He is also survived by his four children, Pauline Graves (Bobby) of Strong; Bonnie McCullough of Cabot; Carey Herring (Wanda) of Strong; and Brenda Orren (Buddy) of Milton, Florida; Four grandchildren also survive him: Cheryl Johnston (Chuck) of S trong; Paul Orren (Julie) of Milton, Florida; Bridgette Orren (Danny), of West Virginia; and John Herring of Strong, as well as 7 great-grandchildren; Kayla, Rhett, Kayla, Emma, Jack, Jake, Shalea, Jessie, and Steven.He is preceded in death by his mother, Theo Hollis; his father, Bill Hollis; his brothers, Billy Frank Hollis, and Jack Nelson Hollis; his sister, Sally Hollis Webb; and his grandson, Bruce Jackson.James was a rural mail carrier for 30 years. He was beloved by those on his route as well as his emp;oyer. Upon his retirement, December 31, 1986, he was honored at a retirement party and presented with a plaque commemorating his years of excellent service and dedication.However, one of his greatest joys was visiting with all his kids and grandkids. Upon marrying, he not only gained a wife, but four children also. He loved each one like his own. When the great-grandkids came along, Papaw Jim took such delight in them and they in him.Visitation will be at First Baptist Church Marion on Sunday, February 15, 2015, form 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral will follow immediately at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Strong Cemetery.Memorials may be made to Marion FBC Mission Fund/Youth Fund/ or Library Fund.Online condolence messages may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
