Funeral services for Mr. James E. Fowler, age 76, of Ruston, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 12, 2015 at South Parkway Church in Ruston, LA with Rev. Chris Witt officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery in Dubach, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA.Mr. Fowler was born October 29, 1939 and passed away November 8, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents: Clay and Louise Fowler; and brothers: Roy Fowler and Boyd Fowler.Mr. Fowler was a Maintenance Manager for Holiday Inn for many years and was a School Bus Driver for Lincoln Parish for over 30 years. James loved his family and valued his time spent with them. One of his greatest joys was to vacation in Arkansas. He was a loving man who was very dedicated to God.He is survived by his wife of 58 years Barbara Fowler of Ruston, LA; children: Sharon Lewis of Ruston, Mike Fowler and wife Brenda of Dubach, LA, Randy Fowler of West Palm Beach, FL and Laurie Hankins of Ruston, LA; grandchildren: Melissa Shattuck, Ben Lewis, Bartow Lewis, Harley Fowler, Natalie Fowler, Amanda Fowler, Marcy Boyd, Will Edmiston, Zachary Hankins and Haley Hankins; great grandchildren: Lilly Shattuck, Chaz Hankins, Mac Boyd and Guy Carroll.Pallbearers will be Ben Lewis, Bart Lewis, Zach Hankins, Will Edmiston, Cameron Stewart and Patrick Hanna.Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com

He was my school bus driver for many years while I was in elementary school, and I remember that he rewarded us kiddos with an ICEE on Fridays if we were good! Needless to say, we were all good!
