Funeral services for James Edward Roberson will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home-Monroe with J.C. Roberson officiating. Visitation will be at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home-Monroe from 11:00 AM until service time Friday, September 6, 2024. Interment will follow at Rhymes Cemetery in Start, LA.
James was born in Holly Ridge, LA to the late J.C. and Sarah Ellen Roberson on September 20, 1947. He passed away at his home on Monday, September 2, 2024. He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Pippins (Russell) and Jamie Williams (David); son, J.C. Roberson (Gidget); siblings, Lois George, Ann Minchew, Sandra Roush, Roger Roberson and wife Sherrie, Lavelle Roberson and wife Deborah, Elvis Roberson and wife Angela, Nicky Weems and husband Ricky, Jimmy Roberson and wife Tracy; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many other cherished family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Barmore Roberson; daughter, Crystal Roberson Chavers; parents and sister, Sybil Roberson.
James loved the good Lord and loved his family. He had a kind heart and was very determined. He loved music, family and talking. He would fight hard for what he believed to be right.
James was a veteran of the Vietnam War proudly serving in the United States Air Force.
Pallbearers will be J.C. Roberson, Russell Pippins, Brent Pippins, David Williams, Jr., Jameson Roberson and Aubrey Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Levi Roberson.
Special thanks to Gidget Roberson for loving Dad and being the best daughter-in-law he could ask for and to Ms. Angela Graves for being one of the best caregivers and friend to Dad. Also, to Hearts of Hospice for being there in his time of need.
