Scott Nelson left a message on March 20, 2012:
To all of Jim's family, but particularly Randy and Johnny, both of whom graduated from OPHS with me in 1975: So very sorry to see in the paper about Jim's passing. I had the chance to get acquainted with Jim in the early 1980's when we sang barbershop music together. Jim was a nice guy and a true Southern gentleman. And to Randy and Johnny, thanks for being my friends while we were all at OPHS. As so often happens, high school friends lose contact with each other, but my wishes for your health and well-being live on, regardless. I wish the same for your families. And to all the Nichols family, may God bless, comfort, and strengthen you all in your time of loss.
