Choudrant – Graveside services for Jack Layne Parnell, 89, of Choudrant LA, will be held at Sibley Cemetery in Choudrant, LA., at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 14, 2020, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA.  Rev.  Bill Sanderson will officiate under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home – Ruston.

Jack was born on April 2, 1930, in Choudrant, LA and passed away on March 7, 2020, in League City, TX. surrounded by his daughter and grandsons.  Jack was a graduate of Choudrant High School and Business School.  He served in the United States National Guard 1949-1961.  Jack began his career at United Gas Pipeline in Shreveport, LA, and retired from United Gas Pipeline in Houston, TX in 1986.  He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandsons.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Olga Humphries Parnell, and father, Algie Morton Parnell; his sister, Maudie Mae Sanderson; and brothers, Clinton Parnell, James Parnell, and Ray Parnell.

Survivors are his daughter, Patricia Layne Parnell Dresner of League City, TX; grandsons, Sterling Forbes Dresner and Austin Stuart Dresner of Seabrook, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
