How can I adequately give tribute to such a wonderful, godly woman? I first became closely aquainted with Mrs. Iwilla through her fantastic husband, Mr. Bill. He lovingly referred to me as, "Sam". I think I was one of many "Sams". Though she was more soft-spoken than he, they made quite the duo, and I loved both of them dearly. After moving away from Ruston, I would still see her on Sundays when I came back in town and went to Temple. Oh, how I looked forward to finding her on the front row of the back section at Temple and giving her a big squeeze. Her love and her tenderness was always so refreshing. The joy she had was contagious. Her love for the Lord spilled out of her onto everyone around her. When she moved to the Russ House and eventually wasn't able to come to Temple on Sundays, I would occasionlly make a visit to her there at the Russ House. When each of my children were born, I was certain to bring them to meet Mrs. Iwilla. She was like another grandmother to me and she doted on my children as though they were one of her great-grandchildren as well. Oh, how her love for people was so very, very big. One of the treasures I have from her is a book, "Good-Night Moon". She gave one to each of my 3 children and signed each of them - such a special gift. Mrs. Iwilla is a woman who impacted many, many lives and I believe the Kingdom of God is bigger because of the influence of Christ's love through her. She will be missed greatly but I know it is her absolute joy to be in the presence of our King. And, I bet being reunited with the love of her life is pretty amazing too!

A great lady is now in heaven with her Lord she loved so much. We have many wonderful memories of Iwilla and Bill over the years at Downsville Baptist Church and their friendship and love for us did not end when they moved to Ruston. Iwilla taught many children Bible stories in such a way they always remembered them. The Bible teaches us to be encouragers to others and Iwilla was definitely that. Her love for family and friends was always evident. We are praying for you, Fred and family.
