Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Smith, 91, of West Monroe, formerly of Bernice, are 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 25th, at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe with Bro. Gleason Copeland officiating. Interment follows at the Bernice Cemetery, Bernice, LA under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Mrs. Smith was born March 28th, 1920 in Camden, Arkansas and died October 22nd, 2011 in West Monroe. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostals of the Twin Cities. She was preceded in death by her husband Carlton Smith in 1990; a son, Jerry in January 2011; a great great-grandson Micah in 2006; two sisters, and a brother. Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Theresa Taylor and husband Walter, and Mrs. Reba Thurmon; son, James Smith and wife Sharon; daughter-in-law Rita Smith; brother Terrence Oliver and wife Shirley; eleven grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are her grandsons.
