Our sincere condolences the family. We will miss Irene's phone calls, she was wonderful at staying in touch. Joan and Irene were sewing buddies in the 1960s, there wasn't anything they couldn't put their heads together to create, even without patterns! God Bless Irene and the family. She will be greatly missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

What wonderful memories I have of growing up with The Coker Family in New Orleans. Mrs. Coker was our "go to" second mom for after school care during the 1960s. She was always busy in the den running her sewing machine at full speed ahead, sort of the same way she drove her Oldsmobile! She was the most kind, loving, giving person, and she always had time for everyone. She made the best BLT sandwiches on the block! Our love and condolences to the family and our best to Wayne, Sandy, Lou and Mike.

"Miss Coker" as we kids called her. What memories! What a great lady! Kept all of us kids in line for years.I can still hear her calling to Mike: "Michael! Time to come inside, eat dinner, watch Bonanza, take a bath and go to bed!" All in one single breath announcement. Loved her like my own grandmother. God bless Coker! Our deepest condolences to the family, and especially my old friends Lu, Mike, and Sandy.
Bob and Brenda Thomas left a message on May 22, 2014:
A rose once grew where all could see, sheltered beside a garden wall, And, as the days passed swiftly by, it spread its branches, straight and tall. One day, a beam of light shown through a crevice that had opened wide-The rose bent gently toward its warmth then passed beyond to the other sideNow,you who deeply feel its lose,be comforted, the rose blooms there,Its beauty even greater now, nurtured by God's own loving care.
