Ilse L. Causey Memorial Service for Ilse Lannert Causey, 73, of Ruston will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Rev. James Smith. Interment will follow in the Mineral Springs Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. You are invited to a celebration of Ilse's life in the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Mrs. Causey was born in Frankisch Crumbach, Germany on September 3, 1938 and died on May 16, 2012 in Ruston, LA. Ilse was known and loved by the Ruston community for her caring attention to detail in her work and her divine cheesecakes. She was a world class cook, talented decorator and expert gardener, in her element when cooking for her family and entertaining the “German Ladies” of Northeast Louisiana in high style. Ilse's flair for decorating and creative food presentations were legendary, and Ilse always said she learned everything about gracious living and entertaining from her long time friend and mentor, the late Jo Anne Maxwell. Mr. Maxwell took Ilse under his wing when she worked for him at the Holiday Inn/Maxwell's Restaurant. Ilse's family is grateful to the Maxwell's for their kindness and friendship. The Kiwanis Club of Ruston made Ilse an honorary member in 1993 in recognition of her long standing dedication and service to their organization. Ilse will truly be missed. Ilse Lannert Causey, preceded in death by her parents Eduard and Katharine, sister Erna of Frankisch-Crumbach Germany and grandson Donald Ray Wagner of Ruston. Ilse is survived by her husband Bill; son, James Causey Heather; children, Willie Causey Debbie, Wanda Barmore Johnny, Lorna Schubert Steve, Penny Scott Kevin; 13 treasured grandchildren, 20 precious great-grandchildren; brother, Eduard Lannert of Germany; and numerous family members and friends. . Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
