Eugene Brown will officiate under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home Monroe.Herbert was born August 28, 1932 in Choudrant, LA and passed away March 11, 2018 in West Monroe. He was a retired minister and was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Martha Sims; sister, Catherine Thomas; brothers, Robert Sims and Albert Sims; and an infant son.Herbert is survived by Cherry Sims; daughter, Carol Rittelmeyer and husband Dr. James Rittelmeyer; son, Terry C. Rusty Sims and wife Donna; grandsons, Terry Sims II and wife Jennifer, Patrick Sims and wife Cayce; granddaughters, Grace McDonald and husband Matthew and Kelly Roberts and husband Jordan and 6 great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be James Rittelmeyer, Jordan Roberts, Terry Sims, II and James Butler.Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 1200 Lamy Lane Monroe, LA.Thank you to Hospice Compassus and Landmark Nursing Home for their excellent care. His special love was ministering in nursing homes.
