Helen Brooks Carlisle, 96, died on December 8, 2020 in Memphis, Tennessee following a brief illness.
Helen was born March 19, 1924 to the late Charles and Bertie Williams of Swartz, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School and later married Bernard Hixon Brooks of Swartz, Louisiana. Following his death in 1977, she married the late Coleman Lee Carlisle of Monroe, Louisiana. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Swartz.
She was preceded in death by five siblings, Albertine Logan, Woodrow Williams, Verna Daniel, Dorothy Armstrong, twin brother Harold Williams, and son in law Ronnie Twyford.
She is survived by her son, Bernie Brooks (Deborah) of Collierville, Tennessee and daughter Julie Twyford of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Helen is survived by four grandchildren, Mark Twyford (Holly) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Karen Rath (Bill) of Bixby, Oklahoma, Chris Brooks (Kristy) and Jeff Brooks (Cover) of Collierville, Tennessee and eight great grandchildren, Caroline Davis (Kai), Faith Twyford, Leah, Lindsey and Caleb Rath, Lucy and Troupe Brooks, and Ruth Greer Brooks, as well as, other extended family.
Due to Covid restrictions, there will be a family graveside service only.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity.
