Funeral services for Harold M. Knotts, 86, of Ruston, LA will be held at 2:00 Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Burkhalter Chapel of Trinity Methodist Church in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Hilbun, assisted by Rev. Leslie Stephens, will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, March 13 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.Harold was born in Ruston on August 6, 1931 to Melbern and Mattie Adcock Knotts and died March 8, 2018 at his home. Harold worked as a tool and die caster for Western Electric, first on motorcycles, later on lawn mowers and outboard motors and autos. He also assisted in the manufacture of telephone parts and in the manufacture of specialized metal parts for machines, planes, and heavy equipment. Harold is predeceased by his parents; an infant brother; his sons, Arnold and Steven Knotts; his first wife and mother of his children, Rosedale Kinman, and granddaughter, Deidre PippinHarold is survived by his wife, Virginia Kay Goss-Knotts; his daughter, Bettye Bollman and husband Greg of Minden; his stepson, Stephen Tarbutton and wife, Jackie, of Ruston; sisters: Helen Shrell and husband, Harold and Ruth Dusan and husband Jim of Newton, Texas. Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Kristi Knotts Schwegel and husband Brian, Patricia Pippin, Amy Pippin Morvant and husband Josh, Brittnee Pippin Ford and husband Adam, Archie Pippin and wife Amanda Nichols Pippin. Great grandchildren are William, James, and Henry Morvant; step grandchildren: Bryce and Brittain Tarbutton; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and 1 great great nephew.Pallbearers will be Adam Ford, Archie Pippin, Josh Morvant, George Haydel, Mike Watts, and Matthew Linn. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Shrell, Bob Watts, Micky Haydel, and Stephen Tarbutton.Memorials may be made to the Methodist Children Home, 901 South Vienna, Ruston, LA 71270 or the charity of the donor choice.Online condolences may be made at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
