So saddened to hear of the loss of Harold. I moved to Downsville when I was 10 years old. My dad drove us from Monroe everyday, where we were still living, for the last 2 weeks of 5th grade, so that we would know local kids and have friends over the summer. Harold and I “went together” for an almost whole week, when on Friday morning, I showed up to school in my FAVORITE (prettiest) dress, and Harold crushed my little heart and dumped me before school even started, because I was too “city-fied “ for him. Still always had a crush on him all through high school and college. You will be missed greatly!

Still shocked and heartbroken. Loved my cousin all my life...so many laughs, memories and fun times. Harold Jr was a picker, prankster and so much fun. More than that he had a heart of gold and I could count on him being there. He loved his family, friends, hunting, and baseball. Gone to soon. Love you and will miss you Cuz

I loved Harold. Loved playing baseball with and against him growing up. What an athlete. Could tell a lot of stories but two favs of mine are when I was 11 and he was 12 and we played against each other in the Dixie Youth District tournament at the old ball fields by the WM Rec Center. I was playing left field and Danny Bacon was pitching. Harold was batting for Union Parish. He hit the most awesome home-run I’d ever seen. Went over the light pole still climbing, over the dirt parking lot, bounced one time and landed inside the fence around the water tower. Would’ve gone out of many major league parks. Country strong! My fav though was fishing in our little 14’ john boat up at Middle Fork on lake Darbonne and the fish weren’t biting so we took turns running the motor and flying by.a big old cypress tree trying to swat a massive wasp nest off with the paddle. He finally hit it and we both had to dive in the water to avoid getting stung. Harold was a phenomenal athlete and I will always cherish thise memories. Harold, God Bless you brother !

So sorry for your loss. For Harold: Brudder (which is what Chris called you, so I thought I should too), I have known you my entire life. You had a way of making a room light up. You could make me laugh and want to smack you all at the same time. We fought like brother and sister but we were always straight with one another. When I would boss you around, you would take it with smile. Would Love to see that smile and hear, “hey pretty girl” one more time. Love ya, Sherri
