Funeral services for Hansel T. Nelson of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 15, 2015 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Bro. J. E. Brown will officiate and eulogy will be by Eric Snipes. Interment will follow at Harris Cemetery, Crowville, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.Mr. Nelson was born December 6, 1919 in Delhi, LA and passed away October 13, 2015 in Farmerville, LA. He was a veteran of World War II 713th Tank Battalion, Armored FlameThrowers and he was a deacon at Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his wife, Agnus Cupit Nelson; grandchildren, John Mark Snipes and David Lane Poland; son-in-law, Carey Poland and several brothers and sisters.Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife Mabel Nelson; sister, Nellie Bell; children; Margaret and J W Snipes, Sharlot and Lee Roy Robinson, Glen and Janie Nelson; grandchildren; Eric and Kim Snipes, Steve and Renee Snipes, Daryl and Melanie Poland, DeAnn and Alex Griffin, Debra and John Choate, Jennifer and Josh Smith, Jon and Whitney Nelson, Trevor and Eryn Nelson; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Steve Snipes, Daryl Poland, Jon Nelson, Trevor Nelson, Trey Snipes and Scott Bullock.Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
