Gertrude Jane Hawkins, age 99, of Monroe died Monday, March 26, 2012. Funeral services will be at 7 pm, Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe on Lamy Lane with Father Jon Roberts officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 6-7 pm at the funeral home. Interment services will follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, E.C., and son-in-law, Dr. James R. Wolff. She is survived by her daughters, Pat Wolff of Monroe and Beverly Schulze and husband Larry of St. Louis, Mo. Grandchildren: Susan Herold Charles, Linda Perry Bob, Marcia Gsell George, Cindy Barnes Jerry, Todd Schulze, Kim Boehme Jason, and Amy Chadakhtzian Danny. Great-grandchildren: Michelle Herold McIntyre Andy, Natolie and Charlie Herold; Caroline and Camille Perry; Julia and Allyson Gsell; Mary Elizabeth and Anna Kate Barnes, Britton Barnes Jennifer, Briley Barnes Cordasco Brian; Charlie and Ella Jane Boehme; and Sophia Chadakhtzian and her caregiver and friend Dorothy Johnson. Pallbearers will be Charles Herold, George Gsell, Jerry Barnes, Charlie Herold, Andy McIntyre, and Jerry Wolff. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Schulze, Todd Schulze, Britton Barnes, Brian Cordasco, Jason Boehme, and Danny Chadakhtzian. Jane was born July 6, 1912 in St. Louis, MO. She was the only child of William and Gertrude Hawtin. She married Ernest Cleveland Hawkins, Jr. in 1936. They had 2 daughters, 7 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Jane graduated from the University of Missouri and was a life-long member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, LePetite Garden Club, New Comers Group, and Bridge Club. Jane was a faithful member of Grace Episcopal Church and a member of the Daughters of the King. Before her death, she was its oldest living church member. She will be remembered as a loving and humble wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staffs of The Rosemont and The Oaks for their loving-care of our mother and grandmother. And a very special and heartfelt thank you to Dorothy Johnson, her angel on earth.
